Color Guard

Color Guard

The MCHS Color Guard is an extracurricular activity and an integral part of the MCHS Marching Band. They learn to march, toss flags and rifles, and do dance moves to embellish the band’s performances. Guard members participate in all the same events with the full Marching Band including- summer band camp, competitions, parades, and trips, and will earn a letter for their participation.

Winterguard

In 2015, Middle Creek created a new program called Winter Guard. Similar to the Color Guard that performs with the Marching Band, Winter Guard is a group of students that spin flags, rifles and sabres, as well as executing various dance movements all choreographed to a recorded track of music. The team competes against other regional guards in their class at weekly competitions throughout the season which culminates with the AIA Championship Competition held at the Crown Coliseum. The season runs January through March.

During their pilot season Middle Creek Winter Guard earned First Place at each event, advancing to the Semi-Finals competition where they were awarded First Place, securing the guard a spot in the Finals at Dorton Arena. The students finished strong at Finals taking home Grand Champion for their class. Great representation of Middle Creek by this pioneer class of winter guard!

Since then they have gone on to be promoted into a more challenging class and we have added another unit. Currently Middle Creek fields both a Junior Varsity and Varsity unit during the Winter season.
