How do I sign up for band class?
- Select Instrumental Music I and II (Beginning semester 1, and Intermediate semester 2)
- No audition required
- We call this ensemble “9th Grade Concert Band”. This performance ensemble will have 2 concerts per semester, and have the opportunity to travel to perform at MPA in March, and graduation in June
Students who are interested in auditioning into honors level band class will need to complete a recorded audition submitted to Mr. Newsome by Feb 28. Please email Mr. Newsome (wnewsome@wcpss.net) for more information – or ask your MS band director

How do I join the Marching Band?
Attend the following:
- Marching Band Kickoff Mtg → May 30 @ 6:30pm
- Spring Training dates → May 30, May 31, June 1 from 3:30-5:30pm
- Marching Band Camp → July 24-28 from 8am-5pm
- July 31-Aug 4 from 8am to 8pm
Fall Season: Rehearsals 3 days per week; home fb games; Sat competitions (end of Sept-early Nov), 2 parades in Dec
