MARCHING BAND
Middle Creek High School offers Marching Band during the fall semester. The Marching Band attends MCHS home football games and provides support for the football team by playing the “fight song” at the start of the game, pep songs during the game, and a half-time performance. This band participates in various competitions and parades in and out of state. Marching Band is offered during the 3rd block of the first semester.
COLORGUARD
The MCHS Color Guard is an after school program and an integral part of the Marching Band. They learn to march, toss flags and rifles, and do dance moves to coincide with the band’s performances. They take part in all parades and competitions and will earn a letter for their participation.
CONCERT BAND
Concert Band is offered in both the fall and spring semesters. This band presents concerts throughout the year and has opportunities to work with area professionals and guests from area colleges. They also enter a district contest each spring. Many opportunities are presented to broaden their education and interest in music. This class is scheduled during the 2nd block of each semester.
SYMPHONIC BAND
Symphonic Band is offered during the spring semester only. This band usually consists of the upper classmen (Juniors and Seniors) and is scheduled during the 3rd block. As with Concert Band, these students also have opportunities to work with area professionals and guests from area colleges. District competitions are scheduled as well, to take advantage of the opportunities to broaden the students’ education and interest in music.
JAZZ BAND
Jazz Band at MCHS is an after school commitment and meets once a week during the spring semester. They perform various forms of music and styles associated with jazz and will have at least one scheduled concert during the spring semester. |
